Tooth-Colored Fillings in Chandler

When you have a tooth that has a cavity (decay) or a small fracture, your cosmetic dentist, Dr. Troy Gombert, uses composite (tooth-colored) filling to repair it in his Chandler office. The broken or decayed portion of the tooth will be removed and then filled with a composite material.

Why White Composite Dental Fillings?

The Look of White Teeth Fillings

There are many types of filling materials available, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. You and Dr. Gombert can discuss the best options for restoring your teeth. Composite fillings are widely used in modern cosmetic dentistry today because they tooth-colored. These dental fillings fit seamlessly in your mouth and closely match the color of existing teeth. White teeth fillings are a great option for front teeth.

Tooth-colored composite fillings are very durable and will give you a beautiful smile for years to come. But, as with most dental work, composite fillings are not absolutely permanent and may someday need to be replaced.

The Filling Procedure

One of the best advantages of white composite fillings is the speed with which we can complete the procedure. Dr. Gombert and his staff can usually place composite fillings in just one appointment.

First, we will numb the tooth so you will be comfortable while Dr. Gombert removes as much decay as necessary. Next, your tooth will be thoroughly cleaned before the new composite filling is placed. After the tooth is cleaned, we will place the composite filling in layers. We do this using a special light that hardens each layer. After this is completed, Dr. Gombert with shape the composite filling to fit in the tooth, and then polish it to prevent early wear and staining. Some patients may experience sensitivity to hot and cold when composite fillings are first placed. This will subside shortly after your tooth acclimates to the new filling. We will provide you with care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment.
